Australian wildflower Golden Wattle wooden stud earrings.

Made in Australia from our original hand painted design, these earrings are printed with eco-friendly inks onto light weight, sustainably grown eucalyptus wood and paired with stainless steel posts, perfect for sensitive ears!

Acacia pycnantha, the golden wattle is a hardy, short-lived large shrub or small tree found in south-eastern Australia on dry soils in open forest, woodland and scrub. It has bright green flattened leaf stalks instead of real leaves and produces masses of fragrant bright yellow, ball shaped, fluffy flowers in late winter and early spring. The rich flower nectar provides a food source for a variety of birds and insects.

Wattles are resilient plants that can resprout after fire or germinate from long lasting seeds that have a hard protective coating. The bark is rich in tannins and is used for tanning leather. Traditionally used for food, medicine, fibre, adhesive and hunting implements. In 1988 the golden wattle was formally adopted as the Australian national floral emblem. A symbol of resilience, inner strength, renewal, new growth and moving forward in life.
